Toolset
We know the work you're in
Technology needs look different depending on your industry, your customers, and what you are trying to grow. We bring that context to every engagement.
Why the sector matters more than the software
A store on its busiest weekend, a clinic answering a symptom search at midnight, and a nonprofit reporting to a funder all need a website. They do not need the same one.
Knowing the sector shortens the part of a project where a vendor is learning your business on your budget. It also means we already know which corners are expensive to cut in your industry.
Industries we work in
Most of our clients are small and mid-size businesses, so eCommerce and healthcare lead the list. Nonprofits, schools, and community organizations follow close behind.

Honest answers to the questions we get most
- What platforms do you support?
-
All of them, in the sense that we've worked across most major and a lot of niche ones. We're most experienced with WordPress, Shopify, and custom Ruby on Rails applications. If your stack is something we haven't worked in before, we'll tell you that on the consultation, and we'll be honest about whether we're the right fit.
- Will you maintain a site you didn't build?
-
Yes, often. Our retainer practice started largely with sites built by other teams. We'll do a short technical and accessibility audit before the retainer starts so we both know what we're working with.
- Is accessibility legally required for my business?
-
It depends on your business and where you operate. The ADA applies broadly to places of public accommodation, and courts have increasingly interpreted that to include websites, but the specifics matter. We can give you a general read in a free consultation. For certainty specific to your situation, talk to a lawyer.
- What's the minimum engagement?
-
Retainers start at $2,500 per month, on the Steady tier. We don't take on smaller engagements as retainers because the relationship doesn't have room to be useful at that size. If you have a one-off project, an audit or page build is probably a better fit (see Audits or Page Building).
Don't see your industry on the list?
These are the sectors we have the most history in, not the only ones we work with. Tell us what your organization does and who it serves, and we will be straight about whether we are a good fit.
