Built around how your team is set up

A four-person shop and a fifty-person company both need their website looked after. What they need from us is not the same. Find the situation that sounds like yours.

What we hear

The common thread is having no one whose job this is

Almost every client arrives the same way. The website matters, everyone knows it needs attention, and it belongs to whoever has the least on their plate that week.

We become that person. What changes between these situations is the pace, the budget, and how much of the decision-making you want to keep.

The baseline

What you get regardless of size

The retainer changes size. These parts of it do not.

A shared backlog you can see

Everything lives on one board with priorities you helped set. No guessing what we are working on, and no status meeting required to find out.

A regular working session

Every two weeks we go through what shipped, what is next, and what changed. Bring one person or bring five.

Emergency response written into the agreement

Registration night, giving day, launch morning. There is a stated response time rather than a hope that someone sees the email.

Accessibility and maintenance included

Updates, patching, and WCAG 2.1 AA are part of the base engagement, not an add-on you decide about later.

Training and documentation as deliverables

We hand back the routine tasks with a short written reference, so your team is less dependent on us over time rather than more.

What clients are saying

Teams of two, teams of fifty

I appreciate you helping us with this, and you have gotten it farther than we were able to take it.

Malak is excellent and super knowledgeable. We've already learned so much from them about how to optimize our website and how we can better approach web design from a CX and engineering perspective.

I can't express enough how grateful I am for everything that you have poured into this project. You set us up well for success. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Common questions

Honest answers to the questions we get most

What's the minimum engagement?
Retainers start at $2,500 per month, on the Steady tier. We don't take on smaller engagements as retainers because the relationship doesn't have room to be useful at that size. If you have a one-off project, an audit or page build is probably a better fit (see Audits or Page Building).
What happens to hours I don't use in a given month?
Unused hours roll forward for up to twelve months. If your site is quiet for a stretch, those hours are still yours when something bigger comes up.
Can we pause the retainer?
No. The retainer is what reserves our time and keeps us available when you need us, including for emergencies. Pausing breaks that arrangement, and we'd rather you adjust to a smaller tier than pause entirely.
How fast do you respond to emergencies?
Response SLAs are tier-dependent and written into your contract. The Steady tier is within two business days for non-urgent work and within twenty-four hours for site-down emergencies. Active and In motion tiers tighten that further.
Will you maintain a site you didn't build?
Yes, often. Our retainer practice started largely with sites built by other teams. We'll do a short technical and accessibility audit before the retainer starts so we both know what we're working with.
Let's talk

Not sure which one describes you?

Plenty of organizations sit between two of these. Tell us how your team is set up and who currently keeps the site running, and we will suggest the shape that fits.

The consultation is free and there is no obligation at the end of it.
